Who We Are

My name is John Waara and I am the Owner and President of Waara Contracting & Development, Inc. I have over 24 years of experience in the residential and commercial construction industries.

I am a Native American Chippewa Indian in the Ojibwe tribe that is located in northern Michigan where I grew up. After graduation, I served in the US Navy for 4 years and left with an honorable discharge.

I moved to Florida in 1986 and began my career in construction. I currently hold a Certified Building Contractor’s license and Qualified Business license in the state of Florida. I am in the process of getting my federal certification to target the public sector work as a minority/veteran contractor with the SBA (Small Business Administration).
